Secretary to the Board of Trustees
Children’s World are looking for someone to join them as Secretary to the Board of Trustees.
Children’s World is a vibrant, child-centred charity looking to find innovative ways to continue our work to support children in a post-covid world. The secretary position is new and whoever joins us would have an input into developing the role to best support our growing endeavours. The secretary will work closely with the chair of the charity to not only provide the practical support we need, but also contribute to the vision and drive needed to take us into the future.
The secretary is a vital volunteer role within the board of trustees. They are essential to the smooth running of board meetings and ensuring the oversight of the charity’s obligations to the Charity Commission. The secretary would be supported by our paid administrator and is answerable to the chair of the board of trustees.
Note that this is not a paid position but is an important role in the running of the charity. The main responsibilities include: organising and recording the meetings of the board of trustees, including AGMs; working alongside the chair to ensure the work of the charity is maintained; the required documentation of the charity is kept up to date (maintaining the records of the charity could be delegated to the charity’s paid administrator but overseen by the secretary).
