A 6 person CWI team have just returned from a three week visit to Rwanda. The first and third weeks were spent providing shows for poor children and orphans in and around Rwanda’s capital city, Kigali.
The middle week was spent working with Rwanda Aid at Ngwino Nawe, near Kamembe in the South West of the country. Ngwino Nawe is a village comprising of children with special needs and their carers.
We used our time there running our Puppetry and Integration Workshop Week which we regularly run in the UK. The week provides a format that encourages positive integration of children of mixed abilities, all working together to create and produce a large scale puppet show.
This is the first time the charity has attempted to transfer it’s UK developed workshops abroad and we were delighted with the outcomes and the positive feedback we received.
You can follow the blog of the trip on our Facebook page.
